Pay awards for Support Staff are effective from 1 April each year. Any applicable general award is also awarded at this time.
Kent Range
Existing Kent Scheme staff transfered to Kent Range with effect from 1 June 2011. This will automatically apply to those employees of all Community and Voluntary Controlled Schools, and for those staff employed in Foundation and Voluntary Aided schools that have chosen to adopt the scheme. TCP Process 2012
SPS will take a default position that all employees are 'achieving the required standard' and will apply the KCC % rating for this to your employee salaries from 1 April. Exceptions to this will need to be notified to SPS , including staff who fall oustide of the default position , the decision not to apply the KCC % awards and confirmation of salary details for those schools and academies who did not transfer to Kent Range (see below).
Schools and Academies who have chosen not to transfer to Kent Range
The decision not to transfer to Kent Range, will require Governing Bodies to take responsibility for maintaining their own pay scales and pay strucure and will need to undertake a consultation process with regards to any future increases or changes. Please contact your SPS Consultant for further information or support.
Staff transferring from another post or 'related' employer
Staff who are re-deployed to a post on the same grade will transfer on their existing salary value and progression will apply as per their previous post i.e. at 1st April each year (subject to their TCP assessment) no matter when the transfer took place.
